3D action with missions, online, etc...

After about 7 months of work, it's finally finished! I present to you, the finished version of Hover Tank 3D!

HT3D is a tank arena combat game, with missions, versus CPU play, online multiplayer, and much more. It features many different types of gameplay, and is customizable to look and play how you want it to. The game is made in Game Maker's D3D, and is a fully 3D game. Here's a comprehensive list of all the game's high points:

Hover Tank 3D Features:
· Fast-paced 3D action, using GM's very own D3D commands, for a unique experience
· 5 single player modes, including Missions, Power War, Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, and Target Practice.
· A total of 41 arenas (6 Missions, 10 Power War, 6 Deathmatch, 8 Capture the Flag, 6 Online Deathmatch, Tutorial, Target Practice, and 3 Bonus Arenas)
· Online multiplayer mode, using a listing server! Locate opponents quickly and easily, and track your stats online here
· Customize your tank's color and your in-game name
· A range of options let you control how well the game runs, how it looks and sounds, and how hard it is
· Track your statistics throughout the different modes, and check your progress
· Support for OGG files, that can be used with the Music Pack (link below) or with your own custom tunes

Info:
File size: 6.64 Mb
GM Version: GM6, registered (game is a ZIPPED EXE, for your convenience)
Window size: 800x600 (starts full screen, F4 to toggle)

Hover Tank 3D final 8.7: Right Click, Save Target As... (6.64 Mb)
Music Pack (recommended, but not required): Mirror 1 / Mirror 2 (8.39 Mb)

Updated Vista-compatible file!
You can now download the following file and replace the original game's EXE with this one to play the game on a Vista system. Sorry for the delay!
Right Click, Save Target As... (6.36 Mb)

Ey m8, nicely done.
Smooth 3d engine, and nice features.
I also really liked the bonus games and the MP, since i already played that.
Again, 10/10, nicely done.

I am glad you guys are enjoying it, I put a lot of work into this thing to amke sure that most of the game's issues were resolved before I put out a final release!

I should mention that the last three extras are supposed to be unlocked by default, and that to unlock the others you can can unlockable objects hidden in each mission, and some of the deathmatch, capture the flag, and power war arenas. You will also unlock an extra bonus arena for beating missions 2, 4, and 6. I hope you guys enjoy everything... even the picture of my filthy desk on the last major work night of HT3D (pulled a coding marathon, hehe).

If anyone wants to play or schedule an online match, get your router set up (if you have one) and then PM me, or post on the MCG forums. Sometime next week I might be organizing a tournament, so keep practicing, and enjoy the game!

FF, you still haven't resolved the aim bug, where if you look strainght up, or straight down, you can see a strange circle/dot...maybe limit the vertical look?

I thought about it, but I don't really feel it necessary to limit it. It's just a minor graphical flaw, and most users will not experience it under normal playing conditions.

I'm probably gonna take some time off from making anything serious and probably make some more examples to help people with 3D coding, and help out some buddies with some upcoming stuff.

I feel like I'm on a roll right now, and in a good programming mode, so I'll always be working on new stuff on the side... ^_^

This is the finest game maker game I've ever played. 10/10. I would actually buy this game if there was a dedicated multiplayer server available. The graphics are top notch and I recommend downloading the sound pack for it. But its the movement and the smoothness I cant get over. Amazing stuff

Hey martin!

I think this is revolutionary! How you used the 3d-possibilities of gamemaker so well! Almost no-one has done that before. I mean... the graphics are very nice, together with the futuristic atmosphere... GREAT! And there's all in it... Missions, offline with bots, online, extra's... Great job man!!

Awesome, the game is finally done. I always loved your games ever since the first one I saw of yours... even though those ones werent finished. I love this game, it is original, fun, and I like how you have to kind of "hone your skills" to be able to play it and defeat the missions. It came out to be very professional looking, and you have great potential to be a great game designer/programmer/artist in the future.

Congratulations on your first finished game. :) (or is it second because that old christmas one?). and KEEP GAME DESIGNING MAN!!!

gameplay: 9/10 (is pretty hard to control at times, but like i said, you have to have skills to control it well.)
originality: 10/10 (very original and i havent seen a gm game like this before)
sounds: 10/10 (went very well with the game, and were original)
overall: 10/10 (the game was awesome)
