i thought it was really good and so ive decided to share.

UPDATED to v 0.3!
Link: Spines' Adventure

Platformer

It has:

Some sound effects!
Double Jumping.
little (spiny enemy) and big (buzzy beetle) forms with working mushrooms.
goombas, goombas that jump, rocket goombas.
Helpful flag messages that display tips, tricks, and random thoughts.
working "?" blocks that contain coins mushroom or fireflower.
working time system.
cool multi room level capability
working bricks that break if hit when big (buzzybeetle).
1st Boss!(need to kill it not hit axe first)(Shoots at you!)

you play as the Spiny enemy that lakitu dropped att you around 4-1. your quest is to destroy mario and surpass bowser for Supremecy of mario enemies. as the adventure wares on you transorm into various enemy types and even brand new ones! each one has distinct abilites. You are seen as a rogue by the rest of the enemies and therefore are seen as a target along with mario.

All known glitches have been solved!
(fireflower does nothing yet so =P)

update: Typos/Alpha testing codes glitching fixed
moving platform glitch (i think!)

shielding as buzzy beetle does not work. (hold down when big, you go into your shell) ---Working On

this so far has taken about 10 hours of programming, and debugging as i hate platformers and im never really good with em.

I finally learned how to do a platform game! mine were always glitchy to the point of unplayability.

Updates:
v0.3:
gravity glitch fixed
running added ("F" key)
Invisiblocks given better sprite
Bricks break normaly into 4 parts (when big)
New Secret Blocks
Boss!

current levels:
1-1a Overworld
1-1b Underground
1-1c Overworld

1-2a Underground
1-2b Underground
1-2c Overworld

1-3 Castle

Spoiler removed due to the concept of it being finished. just wait for the full v!

Minimum Requirements:
256 Mb system Ram (any type, DDRam Prefferable).
256 Mb Ram graphics card.

I found these cause i played on an 8 Mb card it dropped by 35 frames. played on 256 mb card only 1-2 frames dropped which is playable!

Not bad, but I kept getting stuck in things then falling off the map.. the character moves a little too slow too. I can't say much for anything else because it's all ripped from mario.. but it's OK.

well its from the enemies point of view. so i can see it as original except for graphics and sound. you can read a review at http://s14.invisionfree.com/Gm_reviews

EDIT: im fixing the stuck thing Right Now! i found a logic error in code.

It was awesome, I've been looking for a good Mario remake. Really good.

Bug: (I dunno if this is already posted) Sometimes when I jump onto the corner of a box, the player gets stck fora few seconds, jumps off the box, and stops in midair, gets stuck there until I press down, and when I press down he completely dissapears.

the invisi blocks are visible to buzzy beetles as that is thier special ability. also GRAVITY GLITCH FIXED! i removed the whole slide off the platform coding as that wat was wrong. plus in mario (nes) mario stays on platform even if hes 1 pixel on there. F now runs.

OMG did you draw all the sprites coz if u did u did a great job re-creating the mario monsters. i realy like it exept for the part i kept getting stuck in the air when i jumped and i got off the screen a few times but apart from that it is great

yes I did draw them. I took out my old NES and popped in Super Mario and started working in paint. the colors are a little off though. I know there are spriters resources and sprite sheets but i like to make my own. UPDATED. link is also updated.

thx for the tip. acceleration would be awesome. ill be sure to try and add that by next update. Spoiler:im adding a strange little secret.
if you collect enough secrets, you get world 9-1!
world 9-1 plans to be a collection of hidden mario levels, and look glitchy ON PURPOSE. I need a .wav of someone saying "squid" in a little higher pitch than normal (not cartoony and high pitched, but like just a little higher than a mans normal voice pitch.

yes, this is my project's name. biggrin.gif

search the forum for spiny adventure and you'll notice or check my sig.

therefore, you should call something like SpinyShell Adventure or even Spiny Island or sth.
