hello :-p I need a banner, I need a 400x50 banner, I need it to have any rock band following as the background, and same goes for the title, I only need 1 though

P.S. I am sure, you know atleast 1 of those, if not, do any rockband BG with a song title as the words

kool, Ill post mine after yours then. Just remember that it takes practice. Also, if you get many people to join this you should tell them that if you accept the banner they have to wait till youve posted one before they try(I will do this aswell). That way you get the practice your looking for.

Well Im useing Adobe. Its alt more powerful then most programs. Also, when I was resizeing the image I held the shift key to keep it propotional. Then when it was a size I like I streched it. I actually only used part of the picutre. Also, when I used the wand selection tool, I set the tolerance to about 50, deselected areas I didnt want deleted, expaned it by 2 pixels and set a feather of 2 pixels. This way it looks kinda fuzzy and faded. Im not sure if gimp has all these tools though.

anyway i couldnt find any of those features on GIMP.

Did you make that background, cause that looks awsome. I say the best thing to do is to learn what each of your filters do and just mess around a bit with them. mix and match ya know. Also another good this to know how to use is your opacity setting. It can give the perfect effect when used right. A good use is when you want to keep two patterns sepperate, put them on to different layers and change the opacity on the above one to see how the mix. Also try messing with the mode as it can give some fun effects too. It seems that the gimp is a great alternative to useing the higher priced adobe products. It seems to have most of the same features, but like I said since I dont use gimp I wouldnt know its limits and capabilities.
