Looks great, but I am sure some people will be a bit iffy about the installer.

I thought for some reason it wouldn't be out till like October or something...
About the installer, for a game like this, I won't complain about one. Damaged would never put one just for fun.

Anyways, I give it about 4 hours for this to be a hot topic. Bets anyone? rolleyes.gif

About the installer, there is an instruction manual that is involved and I like that to go to the start menu. Also, I like my games to be installers for 2 reasons:

1.) I work really hard on my games, so I would like them to be installed and not deleted instantly. I spend so much time testing and getting rid of bugs that I should use an installer. Also the game creates files, so this way they all go nice and neatly into a folder.

2.) I like making installers tongue.gif

I'm working on getting some new screen shots. I'll reply with them soon.

Enjoy,
Damaged

Ok, I just finished getting some screen shots, but I gotta run to work. I hopefully will have them up later tonight, but till then, here is a sample

And for those of you that were just trying to download, I accidentally deleted the file and it was re-uploading. So please try again:)

Enjoy,

Man, this is so much smoother than the old demos.

Haloween man's level is super tight!

The difficulty is JUST RIGHT, so far. You seemed to get rid of all of the super near impossible jumps in the levels that I have played so far. I was actually able to beat a boss on my first attempt.

I'm going to keep playing through this, but I just wanted you to know that this is a really fun game. Good stuff.

Feedback

smile.gif Finally, Hard Hat 3 is finished. Was it worth the wait? Does it live up to the hype! My answer is simple...YES!!! Hard Hat 3 is the latest entry in the Hard Hat series and it’s the best one yet. The story was simple but very interesting, more interesting than the previous two. The SFX were clear and suited the game and the overall music was chosen carefully and suited the games atmosphere very well. Also, even if you don't like the music; you can always change it with the cool system Damaged games has added; where you can change the music of the game to your own choice of music. Pretty cool. The graphics although ripped (however this is a fan game, so it doesn't matter) all blend together and fit nicely to create an almost perfect look of the previous megaman games. However, Hard Hat 3 really shines in the game play department. The game play is like the exact same game play fount in the classic, commercial megaman games but with a little more polish. The stages are not as hard as the previous games and there are no more death-defying jumps; but this is still a challenging game that both newbie and Veteran players will love. The bosses are challenging and great and their animation is smooth. The powerups were great and are definitely a nice addition.

sad.gif My only complaint would be the lack of extras in the game. It would have been cool if we could unlock secret Hard Hat edits, or skins. Or even a classic mode would have been wicked, where we could play 1 or 2 levels from the previous games. Anything to boost up the replay value of the game would have been welcomed. Also, I may have discovered a potential bug. When I was in Spike Man's stage and I climbed a ladder but there was no climbing animation. However, this could be intentional, so I can't say for sure weather it’s a bug.

FINAL JUDGEMENT: Hard Hat 3 offers everything we expect from Damaged Games and then some. Good story, great game play, great graphics, great presentation and overall nice, polished feel to it. Hardhat 3 may not star a blue robot boy but it’s the best megaman fan game you'll find on the internet. Hardhat rules!!!! Period.

SCORE: 9/10

Great game, everything is made well, im not a big fan of old Megaman games but I loved Megaman Zero series. And this one is more like the old ones so it harder for me to play without any swords (I slashed all the way throu the zero games).

The only thing I didnt like was the main character sprites, theyare to simple, especially the moving animation. I know you are not a graphics artist, but I am. So I had some free time and make a spritesheet for Hard Hat dude , I wont demand any credits or anything else if you use this, its up to you. I hope it will be usefull.

Run preview (6 frames):

Cheers, scream681.

It looked very cool, but it ran too slow on my computer. sleep.gif
I know its the specs, so there is no need to remind me of what a crappy computer I have.

scream681! Those redefine awesome! I'm gonna make a test game now to see how they look. As he uses a mask, I think everything will fit just fine:) And of course you'll get in the credits if I use him biggrin.gif

Sparx, once again, thanks for the great review (look on my site at the left).

EDIT: After some testing with his new sprites, he doesn't quite seem to fit (all the creatures have black borders and he doesnt.) Thank you very much though smile.gif

This game is excellent, it feels quite professional. So far, I've beaten only Laser Man, but I'm enjoying it. One complaint I have is that Hard Hat has no animation on the ladders. Why not, Damaged?

What are your specs, do they meet the requirements in the instruction manual?

Not sure, I'll look into that. Are you using a keyboad or a game pad?

Ah mixahman, I'm glad you've played. Getting your approvale is like getting Capcoms. Enjoy the Game and thanks for everything!

I don't understand! Its a clone, but it's very well made. This makes me unhappy when I lose a point since it's a clone. It's not actually a clone, its a fan game. Mega man is NOT the main character. sad.gif

Very nice game. This like this one alot better than the other Hard hat games becuase you've given it an easy difficulty and no I can actully FINISH a level. I'm not the best at these types of games.
