ZeldaMaker v0.39: ZeldaMaker.zip
Place the files in a folder before running. CURRENTLY CAN NOT MAKE ZELDA GAMES, STILL IN ALPHA PHASES ![]() ZeldaMaker will allow you to make a Zelda Adventure with limited programming experience, most of the 'hard stuff' has been done for you. This tool will have most of what makes a Zelda game, well... a Zelda game, and you can add to it as well. To show the power of the engine, I will be making a fully functioning Zelda game with it once v0.9 is complete and releasing it in .gm6 format for the entire ZFGC community to learn, and have fun with. ZeldaMaker supports Language Pack Files (.zlp - Zelda Language Pack) which are 7zip files with the flag for the country of origin and the dialog.ini file which contains the text. The flags are extracted during play, then deleted after closing the game. All dialog/text can be changed on-the-fly. Save states have not been perfected yet, currently using GM 6.1's built in, but will be making my own save files soon (These are QuickSave files, not the normal name/registration saves). Pause is being completely redone, bugs are being worked out, but I'm confident that I can get them all worked out. From the readme.txt file CODE ZeldaMaker v0.39 ---------------- Daniel Barras a.k.a. TheRealMethuselah dbarras@gmail.com FEATURES -------- Encrypted Resource Files (Graphics, Sounds, Music) Language Packs (7zip) Trainer for cheats* Full Menu with Keyboard Shortcuts Status Bar with dialog, FPS, etc. Generate Screenshots (F3) Five (5) QuickSave files* 3 Save States for Players (.zss are .ini files) Icons for various ZeldaMaker files auto associated 12 character names are allowed Pause* (F2) Reset Game (F1) Screen Size (1x, 2x) Limit FPS (Frames Per Second) (F4) FPS are listed in Status Bar Music on/off Sounds on/off Navi on/off L-Targeting (Switch/Hold) Dialog (normal, fast) CREDITS ------- Menu.dll - Nintendofreak88 Status.dll, Cryptor.dll - roachofdeath 7zip.dll - Robert Vandiver BZToolbar.dll - BZGaming * Does not currently work If you'd like to help with translations please read this topic. No offence, but this seems terrible. The whole point of making a fan game is to make the engine, find sprites yourself etc. This should be considered 'cheating', besides, this won't get finished, very few things you make do. (I say this politely, not a flamey way

nice screen shot taker of a title screen with link running and the words "Trm games!"
how exactly is this a "zelda maker" when the only thing related to zelda is the title adn a image of link running to the left. This post has been edited by Rky_nick: Jun 12 2005, 09:25 PM |

I'm going to try to make it save in .gif format instead of .bmp...
A funny thing happened working on that code and it ended up saving 68152 screenshots and when I went to put my CD in to backup and I went to save the Folder it said it was like 1.3GB so I realized that it was saving them over and over again... lmao... so I fixed the code. There was a loop I forgot to end. .gif should save on size too. |

TRM, I'm puzzled. I looked at the pull down menus but I can't figure out how to start the game. All I see is a start screen.
Maybe you should add some instructions so slow people like me can figure out how to start the game. |

Well, judging by the fact that nothing happen after I pressed c,b and z you only got the link running part and the menu ready.
Well so far it looks great. If it wasn't for the fact that it was posted here I would of though this was done on visual basic or something, however I didn't get to see the zelda making part so... And for those of you that say that making a zelda maker is a bad idea and that people will find it that it is cheating, look at this site and look how popular the program has gotten:http://zeldaclassic.armageddongames.net/index.php Its good to see you back TRM, but this time around you oughtta work more on your demos before you release them, also work on simpler stuff this time, then you can work up your way up to that zelda oot2d you were planning on doing. warrior, if you'd have read my post at ZFGC or looked at my BLOG, you'd notice that OOT2D is 85% complete and up to the shadow temple...
This program is simply to help others make a Zelda Game |

Do you not learn? You have been contacted by Nintendo before to halt a fangame project, And to continue OoT2D as you said you were, WOULD BE VIOLATING NINTENDO'S REQUEST.
